CBeebies’ learning-based series Something Special is at the center of new publishing, confectionery and electronic gaming licensing deals in the UK.
Airing daily on CBeebies and featuring Justin Fletcher, the show incorporates the use of Makaton, a form of communication that uses signs and symbols, as well as rhymes and songs, to encourage and develop language.
Following last year’s product launch with master toy licensee Golden Bear, new ranges will hit UK stores starting this August.
As master publishing licensee, Egmont is launching five titles in August that includes an annual, two novelty books and two activity titles.
Kinnerton will roll out a seasonal confectionery range including Something Special-themed advent calendars, miniature figures and Easter eggs.
Meanwhile, Inspiration Works will launch electronic educational products entitled Mr Tumble’s Tablet and Fun Phonics later this year.
Additional ranges from Golden Bear include the Something Special Mr Tumble 3D Backpack and Aunt Polly’s Tea Party Puzzle and are also slated to make their debut late this summer.
