New Code Lyoko makes sales ahead of MIPTV

Paris-based Moonscoop has sold Code Lyoko Evolution, the live-action/CGI reinvention of decade-old animated series Code Lyoko, to a number of global broadcasters in advance of MIPTV, which starts next week in Cannes.

The series, produced by Moonscoop, France Televisions and Canal J, will be heading to RTBF (Belgium), Cineplex (Thailand), Canal Panda (Portugal), Canal+ (Poland), Noga (Israel), Prava I Prevodi (ex-Yugoslavia), DPI (Russia) and  MTV Oy (Finland).

Code Lyoko Evolution, based on the original 10-year-old series Code Lyoko, features 3D CGI animation and  new live-action sequences.  Moonscoop controls worldwide distribution rights for the new 26 x 26-minute  episodes.

The original Code Lyoko TV series has been extended to online and gaming worlds, with an active Facebook community of 200,000 fans and 1.3 million registered gamers on the branded social game that launched last July.
