Brenda Wooding’s L.A.-based boutique production and distribution company Kid Glove, which launched at MIPCOM 2012, is expanding operations to São Paulo, Brazil in an effort to tap into a growing animation community in the region.

The additional office will serve as an international hub for bringing Brazilian producers and animators together and creating partnerships throughout the global entertainment industry. Kid Glove President Wooding, who currently serves as a consultant to the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers (ABPI-TV), will head up the Brazilian operations.

The move comes as Brazil continues to grow its creative animation output. The animation industry also receives generous support from its government through production funds and coproduction treaties with countries like Canada, Germany and the UK.

Heather Kenyon, who serves as the lead creative executive at Kid Glove, will continue to work out of the company’s US operations in LA.
