International children’s channel KidsCo has partnered with NBCUniversal’s science fiction and fantasy-based channel, Syfy, to launch Syfy Kids, a new sci-fi genre programming block dedicated to kids ages six to 10.

Set to launch in Q2 2013 and appearing exclusively on KidsCo, the fully-dubbed block will feature imagination-based content from KidsCo’s joint venture owners, NBCUniversal and Corus Entertainment, as well as original programming and third-party acquisitions. The block will be localized in the territories it launches and will broadcast daily at peak times.

Syfy, which is headquartered in New York, originally launched as SCI FI Channel in 1982 and today is seen in more than 98 million homes.

The new partnership comes on the heels of KidsCo launching a redesigned on-air look, a new website and new kids content for 2013 including the original series ZuZu and the Supernuffs.
