UK mobile developer Mindshapes and San Francisco-based children’s mobile gaming network Fingerprint Digital have joined forces to create new story-based interactive ‘appisodes’ for kids ages three to eight that are based on established kids’ entertainment brands.
Mindshapes, the company behind the interactive storybook Magic Town, will take its products to the Fingerprint mobile platform with apps that feature games and learning-based activities. The products will utilize Fingerprint’s capabilities, which include play insights and parent/child messaging.
The first of these “appisodes” will launch on Fingerprint next month, with four additional apps to follow later this year.
Fingerprint, which launched in 2012 is backed by such companies as Corus Entertainment, offers an array of multi-player learning games. Last year, the platform received more than 200 third-party app submissions from global developers.
