Robert Safian, editor and MD of popular business media brand Fast Company, will kick off iKids 2013 on February 4 with a morning keynote presentation entitled The Secrets of Generation Flux.

Tapping into his experience analyzing what makes companies and executives successful in the ever-changing digital world, Safian has identified leaders who are willing to embrace the break-neck speed of change as members of Generation Flux. Drawing on examples from digital industry giants such as Apple and Facebook, as well as consumer products heavyweights like Nike, Safian will show attendees how Generation Flux finds success by taking chances in the evolving digital landscape, why change should be welcomed, how to keep pace with kid consumers and where future opportunities lie.

At Fast Company, Safian oversees all editorial operations, in print and online, and plays a key role in guiding the magazine’s advertising, marketing, and circulation efforts. He was named 2009 Editor of the Year by Adweek and recognized as a 2008 Innovator of the Year by B-2-B Media.

Under his leadership, Fast Company has received numerous accolades, including a second National Magazine Award Finalist nomination in 2009, Magazine of the Year honors from the Society of Business Editors and Writers in 2008, and the prestigious Gerald R. Loeb Award for Distinguished Business Journalism in both 2007 and 2008.

Safian joined Fast Company in 2007 after serving as executive editor at Fortune. Prior to that, he was executive editor at TIME and headed Money as its managing editor for six years.
