Stereoscopic 3D kids series Bolts and Blip has two new broadcast partners in Europe thanks to deals secured by Netherlands-based KidsPlant Distribution and the show’s producers Toon Box and RedRover.
KidsPlant has inked a deal with Nickelodeon to air the series in Benelux in 2013. The second deal signed by Canada’s Toon Box and South Korea-based RedRover will see Poland’s Canal + broadcast the show on its stereoscopic channel for spring 2013 and on its sister net teleTOON+ from February.
The series, which follows the adventures of two best robot friends who find themselves in over their heads after being suddenly drafted into the Lunar League of Robotic Sports, debuted in 2D on Canal+ (France) in April 2010 and in 3D on 3net (US) in September 2011.
It has since gone on to air in more than 70 territories in 2D and on 3D channels including 3net (US), BSkyB (UK), and Skylife (Korea).
The brand has also successfully diversified into the digital apps space with two apps currently available for iOS mobile devices on the App Store.
KidsPlant signed on to rep the 26 x 22-minute series for Benelux in June and is also on board to handle distribution rights for the recently released Bolts and Blip movie in Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia and Poland.
