Indie game developer Zeptolab’s new animated/live-action series Om Nom Stories, based on the hit app IP Cut the Rope, has launched on YouTube and via a game update for iOS and Android platforms.

The first of 10 short-form episodes comprising season one is available today on Zeptolab’s YouTube channel and further eps will run through the beginning of 2013. Plans are already in the works for season two with approximately 40 episodes expected for next year.

Om Nom Stories is also available today via a new video player for the apps Cut the Rope and Cut the Rope: Experiments.

The idea for the series came after the success of a pilot episode that received nearly 8 million YouTube views since debuting in December 2011. Om Nom Stories content has also been previewed in more than 19,000 movie theaters throughout October after a partnership with National CineMedia (NCM)’s FirstLook pre-show.

Om Nom Stories episode one kicks off after a young boy named Evan finds the mischievous but lovable green creature Om Nom on his doorstep. The stories feature the pair’s day-to-day activities such as playing games, exploring household items and celebrating holidays. New characters from the popular game will also be introduced in future episodes.

The latest news comes on the heels of Zeptolab partnering with Sony Pictures Television to produce a live-action game show based on Cut the Rope.
