Netflix picks up Zodiak Kids Little Princess

Zodiak Kids, Zodiak Media's children's production and distribution arm, has secured a deal with Netflix for its preschool series Little Princess to be made available to Netflix subscribers in the Nordic territory.

Zodiak Kids, Zodiak Media’s children’s production and distribution arm, has secured a deal with Netflix for its preschool series Little Princess to be made available to Netflix subscribers in the Nordic territory.

The deal, which follows Netflix’s recent launch in the Nordic market, sees the video streaming provider acquire SVOD rights to the 30 x 11-minute first season of Little Princess.

In other Little Princess news, Germany’s ZDF has snapped up season three (35 x 11-minute) while Sweden’s SVT has renewed seasons one and two (35 x 11-minute) and two specials.

Little Princess is based on author/illustrator Tony Ross’s best-selling picture books and comprises three series (100 x 11-minute) and 2 x 22-minute specials. The TV series is produced at The Illuminated Film Company’s London studio.

Recent sales for the third season include ABC TV (Australia), Discovery Kids (Latin America), ATV (Hong Kong), DR1 (Denmark), Thai PBS, Czech TV, TVO (Canada) and RUV (Iceland).

All international broadcast rights (excluding Japan and Korea) and all licensing and merchandising rights (excluding publishing) for the series are held by Zodiak Kids.
