Some of Marvel’s most iconic characters will be flexing their muscles in summer 2013 when Disney XD premieres two new animated series on its Marvel Universe programming block.

Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., both produced by Marvel Television, are currently in production and slated to bow next summer on Marvel Universe on Disney XD.

Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, which follows the massive success of this summer’s blockbuster movie Marvel’s The Avengers, features new adventures of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow and newcomer Falcon. Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle of Man of Action Studios (Ben 10, Generator Rex) are the series’ executive producers.

Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. focuses on characters Hulk, his cousin She-Hulk, Red Hulk, A-Bomb and Skaar. Creative duties for the new series are being handled by Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series) and Henry Gilroy (Star Wars: The Clone Wars).
