US kids cablenet The Hub has snapped up brand new animated series Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch from Paris-based Moonscoop and Archie Comics.
New co-production partners, India’s entertainment production arm of DSK Group India, Laughing Lion and Ireland’s Telegael Teoranta, have also been brought on board by Moonscoop and Archie Comics.
The re-imagined series, set to debut on The Hub in summer 2013, stars actress Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical franchise, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) as the iconic teenage witch.
The announcement of the new series is timed with Archie Comics’ 50th anniversary of Sabrina, which has become one of Archie’s most beloved properties especially in TV where it was turned into a long-running ABC and The WB sitcom and a successful ABC animated series.
