Licensees hopping on board in deals brokered by Toronto, Canada’s The Licensing Shop include Activision (global rights for Nintendo 3DS and DS handheld systems), Candyrific (North American rights for candy, chocolate, tongue tattoos), Rasta Imposta (North American rights for Halloween costumes), SGI Apparel (US rights for sleepwear, underwear), X-Treme Worldwide (Canadian rights for t-shirts), and Pioneer Balloons (North American rights for balloons, punch balls).
The new licensees join the program’s existing partners which include Parragon Books (master publishing), Pressman Toys (games, puzzles), Accessory Innovations (bags, cold weather accessories), Mad Engine (T-shirts) and Bulls I Toys (impulse novelty toys).
Activision’s The Trash Pack video game is set to hit retail shelves on October 30 and features 30 characters and more than 160 collectible “Trashies.”
Since the brand first launched last year, Toy ‘R’ Us named it the number-one toy in the collectible category during the 2011 holiday season and retail sales reached more than US$20 million after one year. The third series of toys will launch for the upcoming 2012 holiday season and a new line of trading cards land at retailers later this month.
