Olympic gold medalist and US soccer star Alex Morgan has signed a deal with Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers to publish a three-book series for tweens entitled The Kicks.
The first title, Morgan’s first novel, will arrive in summer 2013 and features the themes of friendship, leadership, and soccer while following the lives of four young girls.
Morgan (pictured on right), a member of the US Women’s National Soccer Team, recently won gold at the 2012 London Olympic Games, the US team’s third consecutive gold medal.
The book deal, which includes world English and audio rights, was negotiated by Kristin Ostby, editor of Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, and Eric Simonoff at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.
