Toronto-based Smokebomb Entertainment’s co-founders Daniel Dales and Jarrett Sherman (pictured) have left Shaftesbury Films’s digital media division, it was announced late Thursday.

The duo, whose company was acquired in 2008 by Shaftesbury, are “moving on from their roles in order to pursue other opportunities,” Christine Jennings, Shaftesbury CEO.

Jennings will continue to oversee Smokebomb, as Jay Bennett, who joined the digital division in 2008 as creative director, is promoted to VP in charge of production.

And Smokebomb has hired Veronica Heringer as a transmedia strategist, reporting to Bennett. Heringer most recently worked as a digital strategist for Tribal DDB Worldwide and the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival.

Smokebomb’s recent credits include the tween-targeted mobile app Totally Amp’d, and its newest digital series Unlikely Heroes. Bennett, Totally Amp’d‘s creative lead and producer, is overseeing development of the new teen series that follows the adventures of a group of teenagers who unwittingly unlock the door to a future civilization.
