Spain’s Imira Entertainment has appointed UK licensing agent CPLG to rep its hit animated series Lucky Fred in Benelux, Germany and Italy.

Key categories such as toys, publishing, apparel, and stationery have been targeted for the IP by Imira, which recently launched a Lucky Fred app and inked the first publishing deals for the property with Editorial Planeta (Castilian version) and Grup 62 (Catalan version) that are set to release 16 book titles between 2012 and 2014 including e-books.

Lucky Fred (52 x 12 minutes), is co-produced with Televisió de Catalunya (Spain) and RAI Fiction (Italy), and follows the adventures of 13-year-old Fred who has a personal robot that can transform into anything he wants.

The series to date has been sold to more than 155 territories worldwide with recent pickups by RTM (Malaysia), e-Vision (United Arab Emirates), TG4 (Ireland) and Kidz (Turkey) in March.
