Wakfu heads to Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has picked up the first two seasons of its 52 x 26-minute animated series Wakfu from independent French studio Ankama for broadcast across several European territories starting this summer in Italy.

Cartoon Network has picked up the first two seasons of its 52 x 26-minute animated series Wakfu from independent French studio Ankama  for broadcast across several European territories starting this summer in Italy.

The animated series evolved from an MMORPG developed by Ankama and takes place within a fantasy universe after a catastrophic world event known as the Great Deluge.

In France, where Wakfu debuted on France 3, season one will be broadcast on Cartoon Network from January 2013, with season two slated for 2014.

In Spain, Boing will broadcast season one starting in September with season two following in March. Boing will also broadcast season one in Italy starting on June 11th, with season two following in October.
