New deals move KidsCo to 15 million subscribers

Ten affiliate deals in Q1 across Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific have helped international children's channel KidsCo reach 15 million subscribers.

Ten affiliate deals in Q1 across Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific have helped international children’s channel KidsCo reach 15 million subscribers.

The deals include DAAR Communications (Nigeria), Telekom (Thailand), Sky Television (Sri Lanka), PT Mega Media (Indonesia), Tarr (Hungary), and Sky C&C (Indonesia).

The kids channel has also announced it will debut its summer lineup from June 2, 2012, with programming including a series of short-form stories from kids in London as they train for sports. The block will launch in conjunction with the London Olympics and will include online games and craft sheets available at www.kidscotv.tv.

The latest deals follow on the heels of NBCUniversal International acquiring a controlling 51% stake in KidsCo, while partner Corus Entertainment upped its stake to 43.8%.
