Webkinz, the virtual world by Toronto-based manufacturer Ganz where children can adopt pets, play games, create rooms, earn points and chat with other members, is now available on Facebook as a new family-friendly, free-to-play social game entitled Webkinz Friends.
The new sharing-based game experience marks the first time a Facebook game has offered virtual representations of plush pets, and the goal of the game is to build your own customized Kinzville that can include homes, businesses, community centers, restaurants, and stores.
Tapping into co-play trends, parents can earn prizes which can be sent to their children’s Webkinz World accounts, letting teens, kids and adults enjoy the game in their own age-appropriate online environments.
The game, which currently has 50 levels, also allows players to register new Webkinz pets and earn KinzCash to purchase Kinzville upgrades.
The latest game launch further expands the Webkinz brand across platforms as Ganz games are currently available as arcade-style mobile apps for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (Polar Plunge, Goober’s Lab and the latest, Cloud Corral).
Ganz also has plans to launch Webkinz Friends for the iPad.
