Global kids footwear manufacturer Cortina-Leomil Group has inked a licensing deal with Rovio Entertainment to produce a line of Angry Bird shoes for the US and Canada.
It also secured a partnership with Rich Footwear Group, which will market and sell the new line from fall 2012 in major US and Canadian retail channels.
The deal further expands the licensing and consumer products program for Angry Birds, which helped generate approximately 30% of Rovio’s 2011 revenues. It now includes apps, toys, apparel, merchandise, entertainment and book publishing.
In a recent deal, US toyco K’Nex signed on with Rovio to produce an Angry Birds building toys.
