Alvin and the Chipmunks head to Walmart

Continuing its ongoing efforts leveraging retail and interactive opportunities, Fox Consumer Products and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, in partnership with Bagdasarian Productions, have launched a multi-category consumer products program with US Walmart stores this week to coincide with the March 27 DVD and Blu-ray release of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

Continuing its ongoing efforts leveraging retail and interactive opportunities, Fox Consumer Products and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, in partnership with Bagdasarian Productions, have launched a multi-category consumer products program with US Walmart stores this week to coincide with the March 27 DVD and Blu-ray release of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

Fox Consumer Products’ spring boys and girls apparel line has a number of licensees on-board including Bioworld (boys tees), Awake (girls tees), SG Intimates (boys and girls pajamas), Isaac Morris (boys swimwear and girls tees), H.I.S International (girls sportswear and swimwear), and Berkshire Fashions (boys hosiery and headwear).

As part of the launch, 10 Walmart stores will feature a giant wave water display with a special backdrop for family photo opportunities, and the campaign will be supported digitally on a special Walmart boutique webpage and through the Alvin and the Chipmunks Facebook page.

The latest program comes on the heels of Fox launching movie mall virtual storefronts with US shopping center developer Taubman Shopping Malls.
