London, UK-based Classic Media has acquired the rights to girls preschool property Olivia from brand management firm Chorion.

The deal comes less than two weeks after Classic Media acquired the rights to Enid Blyton’s Noddy from Chorion, which has been selling off its assets since going into administration last fall.

The Olivia property, which is based on the bestselling book series by Ian Falconer and the TV series animated by Brown Bag Films, follows the misadventures of a young pig, Olivia, who has a big imagination.

More than six million copies of the Olivia books have been sold globally, and the television series, which debuted in 2009 on Nick Jr. in the US, now airs in more than 120 countries on kidsnets including Treehouse (Canada), ABC (Austalia) and TF1 (France).

The property also has an extensive licensing and merchandising program covering toys, apparel, accessories, DVDs, eBooks, publishing, stationery, games, puzzles and novelty items.
