Milan, Italy-based Atlantyca Entertainment has landed a deal with Telecom Italia to renew the licensing agreement through 2012 for the national Sail Safe Campaign (Navigare Sicuri).

The campaign launched in October 2009 in association with Telecom Italia, Save the Children and Fondazione Movimento del Bambino and features curious rodent/newpaper editor Geronimo Stilton as he teaches Italy’s children how to safely surf the web.

Included in the campaign is an original Geronimo Stilton book (The secret ultramice … of the web), which gives advice to children in the form of 10 golden rules to surfing the web safely, and Geronimo Stilton posters will be given out at Italian elementary schools in a number of Italy’s major metropolitan areas. Geronimo Stilton is also featured on Telecom Italia’s website where he explains to kids and parents how to navigate the web correctly.

All Telecom Italia retailers will distribute the book and it’s available online at www.navigaresicuri.org.

News of the deal further expands the Geronimo Stilton brand which has seen its books translated into 35 languages with sales of more than 60 million worldwide. Atlantyca and Moonscoop have co-produced two seasons of the animated Geronimo Stilton television series and the IP has moved into videogames, licensed merchandise and a live stage production.
