American media and marketing company Meredith Corporation, owner of brands Parents and American Baby, has signed a deal with Disney Publishing Worldwide to purchase the 20-year-old FamilyFun brand.

The agreement will see Meredith acquire FamilyFun magazine, its special interest publications and its ToyHopper and digital magazine apps.

By purchasing FamilyFun, which targets mothers with kids ages three to 12 with a focus on cooking, crafts, travel and celebrations, Meredith will further expand its reach among women and its growth in the parenthood and food categories.

The deal, which is expected to close within 30 days, follows Meredith’s recent acquisitions of the Every Day with Rachael Ray and EatingWell media brands.

All existing FamilyFun content for digital use will be retained by Disney Interactive’s Moms and Family online portfolio.
