Television and interactive content producer DHX Media has signed a raft of licensing partners in the UK for its stop-motion animated preschool property Rastamouse.

New licensees include Vogue, which will be launching a range of melamine products from tableware to drinkware, along with clocks and room decor. Zap is on board to create a Rastamouse bedding range, and MVSports will develop a range of outdoor toys. Sommerbond will be the partner for underwear and nightwear with plans for a soft launch in next spring/summer followed by a full roll out in fall/winter 2012.  Their Nibs has signed on as the partner for children’s sleepwear, to be sold through Their Nibs store as well as Selfridges and John Lewis.

DHX Media’s existing roster of licensing partners for Rastamouse include EMI (music), Universal (DVD), Character Options (master toy) and MacMillan (publishing).

In related news, Stella Projects has been appointed as the Australian and New Zealand licensing agent for the property. Stella will be selecting local licensees to complement EMI, which has music rights for the region, as well as ABC Commercial, which will develop and launch the Rastamouse DVD in Australia.

Rastamouse, the animated series based on the books by Genevieve Webster and Michael De Souza, launched on CBeebies in January 2011.
