After ending its 13-year licensing relationship with Nickelodeon Consumer Products, Canada’s Studio Licensing continues to flex its muscle, having picked up two new properties to represent within North America.

California’s Bombastic Fantastic has provided the company with the North American licensing and merchandising rights for the animated character and lifestyle brand Lolligag (pictured). The “kawaii-inspired” creation has already garnered a solid track record in the US at boutiques such as Fred Segal. The brand currently spans animated shorts, eCards, apparel and social media platforms.

Studio Licensing will also handle the the North American consumer products launch for South Korea-based Sunwoo Entertainment’s action series Mix Master Final Force.   The 39 x half hour series was picked up by Cartoon Network and starting airing across Asia in June 2011. Sunwoo is in the midst of signing European broadcasters and partners for a fall 2012 launch with plans to launch in North America shortly after.

A series of mixable toys as well as trading cards and an online game, which boasts more than 4.5 million registered users globally, accompanies the show’s merchandising range.

The breakup between Studio Licensing and Nickelodeon was announced in August after Nick revealed plans to open a Canadian division on October 1. As Nick’s exclusive Canadian licensing agent, Studio Licensing previously handled the property management and licensing of all Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central IPs in the territory in-house.

Over the past two months, Studio has secured the North American L & M rights to Sun Properties’ Angel Cat Sugar IP, and will be representing David & Goliath’s Stupid Factory Studios in Canada.
