Interactive children’s book library iStoryTime has scooped up a US$2 million Series A investment that will serve to expand the publishing platform’s reach and roster of licensed content.

iStoryTime developer zuuka Group will use its investment from venture capital firm CFP& Founders Investments to quickly expand its domestic and international library of more than 100 books while forging new content partnerships with media companies such as Cartoon Network and Sony Pictures.

Plus, the investment will allow the company to expand distribution of the content to additional mobile platforms beyond iOS devices.

The investment also finalizes the merger between Santa Barbara-based FrogDogMedia and Germany’s zuuka, which have combined under the zuuka Group name and will continue to publish under the flagship label iStoryTime.

iStoryTime’s apps include the new bestselling Kung Fu Panda 2 Storybook and the Transformers Darkside of the Moon Mix & Match app.
