Hot on the heels of Horrid Henry: The Movie taking home roughly US$5 million from the UK box office during its first week in release, the multimedia kids brand is moving ahead with a new movie-based soundtrack, app and toys range.
Produced by Novel Entertainment and Vertigo Films, the 3D feature film is the only non-Hollywood studio film in the UK’s top-five box office. The movie soundtrack, produced by Universal and available now in store, was released in conjunction with the launch of the film and features both tracks from the motion pictures as well as artists such as Justin Bieber, McFly, Twenty Twenty and Pixie Lott.
Horrid Henry’s Horrid App, a new iPhone app based on the film developed by Asylum Entertainment and published by Europress, is now available to download through iTunes for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. It is a collection of three mini-games featuring characters from both the film and the CiTV series.
A new toy range from Flair is also now available at retail including an initial range launch of yo-yo’s, make-your-own slime and a voice changer.
Horrid Henry, created by author Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross, remains the most successful children’s literary character in the UK after Harry Potter with book sales of more than 16 million. Novel is currently in production on the third series of the animated television show for broadcast on ITV1 and CiTV this fall.
