The first North American range of Moshi Monsters toys, which are based on the global social gaming network that boasts 50 million users, is officially landing in Toys ‘R’ Us stores across the country.

The Spin Master product line is inspired by the virtual Moshi Monster characters, 15 million of which have been created to date in North America. The toys, which include six plush characters and 32 Moshling mini-figures, will include secret codes that can be used to retrieve virtual items for adopted Moshi Monsters, as well as special trial memberships.

The companies are marking the US arrival of the products with a special event at the Toys ‘R’ Us Times Square in New York on August 5.

Created by online gaming company Mind Candy, Moshi Monsters combines adoptable pet monsters, social networking, stories, games, missions, virtual interaction and educational puzzles.
