Children’s literary characters like Fancy Nancy and Splat the Cat are finding new homes on the Apple iBookstore and Barnes & Noble NOOK Bookstore thanks to a new early reading program from HarperCollins Children’s Books called I Can Read.
The digital program has launched with 80 beginning reader titles that are available via boutiques on both the iBookstore and the NOOK Bookstore.
With more than 400 titles, the I Can Read series has sold more than 140 million copies since launching in 1957. The new eBook versions feature audio read-along with sound effects that are synched to the word or page. Additionally, the program has a new online forum where parents can share reading tips and insights.
