American Greetings Properties has picked up the global licensing and merchandising rights to the WotWots preschool property.  The television series, which currently airs on The Hub, comes from Richard Taylor’s Weta Workshop (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) and Pukeko Pictures.

American Greetings Properties will develop a licensing program around the series, which follows two siblings from outer space as they learn about the animal kingdom. The line will initially focus on apparel, publishing, back-to-school, home décor and home textiles.

The WotWots will return for a second season on The Hub this fall. It also airs internationally on Treehouse in Canada, Five.TV in the U.K., and ABC2 in Australia, in addition to Korea, the Middle East and Poland.
