UK-based production company Darrall Macqueen has appointed BBC Worldwide as the licensing agent for its 26 x 11-minute series, Baby Jake, and has confirmed plans for an extensive range of consumer products to support the show.
So far, the master toy license has been awarded to UK-based Vivid, which will develop the initial line of toys, puzzles and games to hit retail shelves in January 2012.
The show uses a mixture of live action and 2D photographic animation and is narrated by Baby Jake’s six-year-old brother Isaac, who can understand the giggles and gurgles and opens the door to an imaginary world where Jake sings, dances and baby-talks with his animal friends. The episodes are set to air on CBeebies this summer.
