Loreto, Italy-based Rainbow has announced a US$10 million investment to produce the second season of Huntik, the boys-skewing six to 12  counterpart to its girls hit Winx Club.

The cash infusion comes on the heels of a multi-territory master deal with Italian toy giant Giochi Preziosi that covers Europe and Russia for action figures, role-play items, playsets and accessories. The series has also spawned attractions at the soon-to-be opened US$450 million Magic Rainbow Land Theme Park in Rome.

The first series was sold in over 30 countries, including the UK and the US.  Rainbow is also hosting an art exhibit at MIPTV, featuring illustrations from the production of Huntik.
