Brown University math professor Richard Evan Schwartz is counting on the power of monsters to teach kids about math. His new educational children’s book You Can Count on Monsters, which illustrates prime and composite numbers through monster-themed geometrical designs, has garnered stellar sales since its debut last year.

You Can Count on Monsters dedicates a double page to each number ranging from one to 100 and breaks down basic math principles such as factoring and multiplication. The math monsters have also been developed into illustrated posters and magnets.

The book, published by CRC Press, is featured at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and at other major US bookstores.
