Disney Channels Worldwide’s Nancy Kanter is adding the role of GM, Disney Junior Worldwide to her current role as SVP of original programming.
As both SVP of original programming and GM of Disney Junior Worldwide, Kanter will continue to lead the development and production of content for kids aged two to seven and will broaden her operational scope to include strategic direction for Disney Junior, which debuted last week on TV, digital, and radio platforms. Preparations are underway to launch a 24-hour Disney Junior channel in the US and around the world.
Kanter has held the position of SVP at Playhouse Disney Worldwide since 2008. She joined Disney Channel in 2001 as VP of original programming and was later promoted to SVP in 2004. She’s overseen series like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny and Imagination Movers, and facilitated the creation of a global development and production operation for Playhouse Disney based in London.
