Interactive entertainment powerhouse Nintendo is set to release its anticipated glasses-free portable 3D console in the US starting on March 27 with a substantial US$249.99 price tag.

The gaming system makes use of leveled screens and a telescoping stylus that displays 3D visuals to the naked eye. The system also features a Depth Slider that lets players use varying levels of 3D entertainment.

On top of new data-transfer features, the 3DS is introducing three cameras that enable 3D photo taking.

Among the 30 games debuting alongside the device is the kid-friendly title nintendogs + cats, which is a new version of the Nintendo DS game that has a feline enhancement.
