Italian media biggie Mediaset has picked up a whack of programming from Hasbro Studios along with territory licensing rights to some core Hasbro brands.
The L.A.-based production and distribution division of Hasbro has sold broadcast rights to Mediaset for Transformers Prime, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, G.I. Joe Renegades, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends and Pound Puppies.
Additionally, a significant component of the deal set to take off in Q4 has Mediaset serving as Hasbro’s exclusive licensing agent for merchandise in the Italian market related to the five flagship programs that have been reinvented for television.
The licensing deal will also cover Hasbro’s Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Littlest Pet Shop brands.
