Big Tent Entertainment is taking Japanese viral character Domo to Facebook with a new social game application, Planet Domo.

Developed by branded entertainment company Big Tent in conjunction with social game developer TheBroth, Planet Domo allows players and their friends to track down Domo who has suddenly taken off on a trip around the world. Players must collect clues in order to discover the next location where Domo was last spotted. The game is currently available at http://facebook.com/planetdomo and will prepare for a global launch (excluding Asia) with distribution across various platforms, social networks and gaming portals in the coming months.

Planet Domo missions are free to play, but the application also offers players the ability to play through the game more quickly by purchasing virtual goods.

Originally created as the mascot for Japanese public broadcaster NHK, Domo rose to viral recognition through websites such as YouTube, Facebook and Flickr. Domo already has a presence on Facebook and an array of virtual goods developed with Virtual Greats, a virtual goods sales and distribution system.
