Toronto, Canada-based Sudden Storm Entertainment is broadening its focus from feature films to television production with the acquisition of the existing production assets of kids’ prodco Heroic Film Company.
The Heroic banner will be carried forward under two new shingles, HeroicTV and HeroicInteractive.
Under the new deal, Sudden Storm will handle Heroic’s interests in its previously produced television properties, including Connor Undercover (Family Channel) and the first season of How to be Indie (YTV). Sudden Storm and HeroicTV will also co-produce the second season of How to be Indie, which is currently in production. DHX Media handles all international distribution.
The new arrangement will also see HeroicTV principals John May and Suzanne Bolch creating production partnerships for new projects.
HeroicInteractive, meanwhile, has completed production on the How to be Indie and Connor Undercover multimedia properties and has similar plans for expansion.
