The winners of the Cartoon Forum Tributes awards were announced over lunch just before the third and final afternoon of the event taking place in Sopron, Hungary wound down.

Broadcaster of the Year, went to YLE (Finland), which show organizer Marc Vandeweyer said edged out the runner up by a narrow margin of only two votes. Other nominees in the category were CBeebies (UK), Minimax (Hungary), and TF1 (France).

Investor/distributor of the year went to France’s Moonscoop, beating out Atlantyca (Italy), Kiddinx Studios (Germany), and Entertaiment One Family (UK). And Producer of the year was taken by another France-based firm, TeamTO, which bested peers companies Belvision (Belgium), Calon (UK) and Edebe Audiovisual (Spain).

And finally, drum roll please…next year’s Cartoon Forum is headed to Sopot, Poland, and will run from September 13 to 16, 2011.
