Zinkia and ITV Studios Global Entertainment have signed a raft of new licensing deals for the animated 104 x 7-minute CGI series Pocoyo, bringing the total number of licensees to roughly 100 and the total number of references in the market to more than 1,500.
Recent licensing partnerships secured in Europe include Panini, which is to produce a monthly Pocoyo magazine starting September 2010, Supergrass (themed computer accessories), Ideal Casa l (home ware and accessories), Dolci Preziosi (chocolate eggs) and Dr.Play (themed playgrounds in Spain).
Outside Europe, Bandai America Incorporated, master-toy licensee in the U.S. and Canada, is launching a toy line due to hit retail outlets this fall. Products will include Squeeze n’ Play plush, bath figures and a Bump n’ Go electronic car.
Pocoyo currently airs daily on Nick Jr in the US, and has been licensed to broadcasters in over 100 territories worldwide. Global rights are handled by ITV Studios Global Entertainment with the exception of Spain, Italy, Portugal and Latin America which are handled by Zinkia. Exploitation rights for China are shared by both companies.
