Independent children’s prodco HIT Entertainment has teamed for the first time with Albavision, a free-to-air network of television and radio stations across Central and South America, to bring a new HIT-branded block to 10 Latin American countries.

The 90-minute block recently debuted in Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Bolivia and Argentina, and will roll out in Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru by this summer.

The deal marks the first time Albavision-affiliated channels have offered a branded block of children’s programming, and the first time that HIT’s programming has aired on free-TV in Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru.

The block will feature more than 600 Spanish-language episodes from HIT’s library of preschool shows, such as Barney & Friends, Thomas & Friends and the new Angelina Ballerina The Next Steps.
