Classic Media has secured a slew of UK renewals for the licensing program based on preschool property Postman Pat.

Toy manufacturer Character Options extended its master toy license for the brand into 2014. Character Options originally signed Postman Pat following the commission of the new CBeebies series, Postman Pat Special Delivery Service in 2007, and has since extended its partnership with Classic Media. Six new SKUs from Character Options will hit shelves this summer, including the SDS Electronic Helicopter and the Postman Pat SDS Convertible, both of which will be supported with TV advertising.

Other CP partners in the UK renewing their licenses include: VMC (accessories and dress-up), TV Mania UK (apparel), Smiffy’s (dress-up), Amscan (partywear), Gemma (greetings cards). And DNC has come on-board for the first time to develop and produce melamine serveware and lunch bag lines.

UK theme park Flamingo Land, based in North Yorkshire, has also extended its Postman Pat SDS license following the brand’s 2009s residency, which included meet and greets, Pat’s ‘Special Missions’ and mini-shows. The park will roll out similar activity this season.
