Canuck kidcaster YTV is kicking off the return of early 2000s hit Beyblade next month with 51 episodes of the new series Beyblade: Metal Fusion.
Master toy partner Hasbro and licensor Nelvana Enterprises have partnered to launch a line of the battling-tops at Canadian toy retailers this spring to coincide with the brand’s re-launch.
From Nelvana Studio and Japan’s d-rights, Beyblade: Metal Fusion bows on YTV with a four-episode stunt event starting May 15. The series, which will air and Saturdays on YTV, follows Gingka and a group of bladers as they undertake the battle against the dangerous Dark Nebula.
And starting April 29, viewers can go online to the Beyblade show page and engage in interactive games. Kids across Canada will also the have the opportunity to Let it Rip at W.O.W! in the Beyblade Metal Fusion Battle Zone, building, customizing and battling different types of Beyblades at festivals and fairs across the country. Tour information will be available starting May 19 at YTV.com/wow.
The original Beyblade franchise was introduced in 2001.
