Corus Entertainment, the Canadian media and entertainment company whose brands include YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon (Canada) and Kids Can Press, announced its second quarter financial results today.

Consolidated revenues for the three-month period ending February 28, 2010 were US$193.45 million, up 6% from US$182.1 million last year. Net income for the quarter was US$14.65 million, compared to net income of US$29.1 million last year. Advertising revenues increased by 3% in the second quarter and are flat year-to-date. Additionally, specialty advertising revenues increased by 5% in the second quarter and by 1% for the year-to-date.

Corus’ kids television segment saw revenues of US$56.3 million for the three-month period, which is up from US$51.0 million over the same period last year.
