Decode Enterprises is heading to MIPTV next month with worldwide rights in hand for brand new series Pirates: Adventures in Art, produced by Halifax Film.
The 36 x 12-minute series is a CBC commission produced in CGI and aimed at four- to six-year-olds.
The series is available in two formats: 12 minutes and 12 minutes and 45 seconds that includes footage from children’s art instruction held at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, highlighting the art techniques used in each episode.
The series feature a band of bohemian pirates, led by the ever-creative Captain Leonardo and the de-throned Princess Cleo who have both escaped the drab kingdom of Queen Conformia. As the Queen seeks to stamp out all traces of individuality among her subjects, the art-loving pirates set sail on daring missions in which they research as much art knowledge in the world as they can and bring it back to the Kingdom to help reclaim individual expression and to restore Princess Cleo to her place on the throne.
