London-based Ludorum and its Australian agent Merchantwise have inked a slew of licensing deals Down Under for premiere property Chuggington.

Merchantwise has secured more than a dozen new licensing agreements for the preschool series, which will be led by a toy launch from global master toy licensee, Learning Curve.

The new toy line will be available in the Australian market this month, with interactive toys and ride-on vehicles to follow later this year.

New agreements have also been secured with TGA (sporting goods), MJM (boardgames), Modern Brands (Electronic Learning Aids), Hot Springs (apparel/sleepwear), TMI (socks/underwear) and Studio Kids (outwear and sleepwear for Target).

Other categories secured in Australia include party wear (Anagram/Party Craft), cakes decorations and bakery (Bakery Sugar Craft), seasonal confectionary (Park Avenue) and carnival/show bags (Bensons).

Chuggington has aired on ABC1 for eight of the last 12 months, and the new Chuggington mini-series of 26 x four-minute episodes, Chuggington: Badge Quest, will launch on ABC Australia on March 16, airing daily at 9:30 a.m.
