Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products has signed a duo of licensing deals in South Africa.

A two-year agreement with toy distributor and character supplier Laceys Promotions will bring Dora the Explorer Lucky Packets to all supermarkets, toy shops and mass retail outlets in South Africa. The packets will be filled with stickers, posters, coloring sheets and tattoos.

NVCP and character apparel supplier Jacques Hau have also collaborated on a line of SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora branded swimwear, outerwear and sleepwear. It will hit the racks at South African Woolworths throughout stores in the next few weeks.

On the program sales side, Mediaset’s Italia Uno (Italy) has snapped up live actioner True Jackson VP for a spring launch. RTE (Ireland) will also be airing True Jackson VP for the first time in the territory, and has forged new deals for Unfabulous and Drake & Josh.

Sales have also been strong in Latin America, with Televisa (Mexico) licensing True Jackson, VP. America TV (Peru), Medcom (Panama), and ATB (Bolivia) have all picked up iCarly, which has also been re-licensed by Televisa (Mexico). New eps of both Drake & Josh and iCarly have been picked up by ATB for a two-year term.
