Commissioned by BBC Learning, dramatic film AWOL is the newest addition to Kindle Entertainment’s slate.

The 90-minute feature is scheduled for theatrical release in 2010 and is directed by Marc Munden (The Mark of Cain), written by Lin Coghlan (The Miracle, Kingfisher Blue), and produced by Sara Feilden (Off-Side) with Kindle’s Anne Brogan and Melanie Stokes as executive producers.

AWOL follows the story of three young brothers, ages 18, 15 and 10 months, as social services splits up the family after their mother’s death and the brothers go off in search of their estranged father.

BBC Learning is supporting the drama with a new online element, where the audience will be encouraged to go to a website once the movie ends and discover alternative endings and outcomes to the story and then vote. The top-ranking viewer’s choice will be played out in real time.
