m4e starts production on international co-pro Yoko, Mo & Me

Grunwald, Germany-based m4e has announced its co-pro partners as it begins production on its newest TV series, Yoko, Mo & Me.

Italian prodco Rainbow and Canuck studio March Entertainment have come on board to produce the series with Lucky Punch’s JV with Berlin-based Hahn Film. Lucky Punch founder and chief executive Gerhard Hahn will act as executive producer. Discussions are currently underway to bring on a Germany TV channel as another co-pro partner.

The fantasy-adventure series, with a budget of US$12 million, will be produced in HD, mixing live action and CGI. Targeting girls six to 12, Yoko follows 12-year-old Milly at boarding school who transforms into an elf figure in a mysterious world through a holographic game console and must overcome danger to save that world.

Season one (26 x 24 minutes) is slated for a 2011 premiere with 26 episodes, with season two already in the works m4e subsidiary Telescreen and Rainbow will handle world distribution.
