The demand is high state-side for The Princess and the Frog products in the lead-up to Disney’s feature film release.

Since launching at retail a few weeks ago, consumer products for Disney’s newest princess Tiana are outselling other Disney Princess merch by double-digit percentages as the holiday shopping season kicks off. More than 45,000 Tiana dolls sold in less than a month – 17,000 were sold last week alone and sales of The Princess Tiana Just One Kiss doll are up by over 150%.

One major retailer is reporting that licensed bedding has sold almost triple the amount of regular Disney Princess bedding, while at Disney Store locations across the US, including DisneyStore.com, Princess Tiana role-play dresses are also outselling other Disney Princess characters.

Tiana is the first African-American Disney princess and the first new princess character in more than a decade. Disney Consumer Products’ merch line spans a range of categories from toys, fashion, home décor, food, personal care and more.

On the social media side, DCP is premiering an exclusive The Princess and the Frog video series that premiered on its YouTubechannel at www.YouTube.com/DisneyLiving, detailing how some of the products came to life, and will release new videos weekly leading up to the national release of the film on December 11.
